Joachim Koester Installation

We worked extensively on the Turner Contemporary January 2016 Exhibition. This was to provide a backdrop to to the film projections of Danish artist Joachim Koester.

In the North Gallery we clad a hut frame we had pre constructed in the workshop. We used reclaimed floorboards to achieve the effect the artist required. Timbers were either genuinely old or were made to look like that by staining and washes by our scenic artist. The hut had to be put up in a very short time which determined our design.

Inside a film was projected but the artist had stipulated that the outside light and other artworks by JMW Turner needed to be glimpsed too.
