A minimalist style contrasts the beautiful grain of the solid oak features with a white ‘Corian’ worktop and white sprayed units. The oak breakfast bar is made of veneered MDF with robust solid oak capping. This was finished in clear lacquer. The sprayed white carcasses and doors are pre-installed before painting to ensure a good fit. Once sprayed, they are handled with utmost care when re-installed for the final fitting.
Much of the working-out involved the handle-less look which gives clean vertical and horizontal lines behind which lie all the usual White Utilities. Profiled door edges allow the doors to be accessed.
We produced a series of working drawings to ensure the aesthetic look worked between all these elements as well as giving the client a good impression of the final layout. Traditional doors wouldn’t have worked well directly above a worktop, so the door above the sink top cantilevers open with a clever piece of ironmongery to reveal a toaster and kettle.
