Theatre Sets & Props
Both John and Mark have a long background in theatre carpentry. John was Deputy Master Carpenter at the Royal Court Theatre and Mark has worked for many of the Scenic Construction Companies in London. As such we like to keep our hand in with theatre work, which we’ve been able to do with the construction of the sets (on-site in Hoxton) of Cardboard Citizens Company’s ‘Mincemeat’ which won the Evening Standard Award for best Theatre Design in 2009 (Designed by Mamoru Iriguchi).
Our experience in Theatre sets was also useful in the cladding of a nine metre high staircase in an empty warehouse for the Birmingham Opera Company 2012 production of ‘Life is a Dream’. This had to be achieved quickly and safely and be sturdy enough for the opera chorus.
We constructed several Film Reels for a Channel 4 publicity event.
We offer our scenic construction services in Kent for theatre, events and photoshoots. We have affiliations with high-quality propmakers and scenic artists and welcome enquiries from Production Managers at any time. We are well versed in the techniques and deadlines of this field.
